Not a bad read as footballing biographies go. This is ghost written by Jacob Steinberg whom I believe posted here on this site many years ago and now writes for the Guardian. Mark gets a mixed reaction from many West Ham fans which I think is driven by a too-cool-for-school attitude. Although there are some fair criticisms of his role working for the current owners (spit).
He talks about his first time playing at the club and walking home from the ground which must make him the last of a kind just for that let alone his commitment to the club in spending his whole career there. You'll learn about him taking a risk getting involved in some scuffles with with fans against Millwall at Upton Park. Something he clearly regrets.
If you like him, as I do, you'll like this book. It takes you through a world that feels both familiar but also inaccessible.
