Swiss. 6:34 Sat Nov 28 I'd add Piper and Meddle (let's forget the song with dog) and Wish you were here purely for Shine on you crazy diamond. Dark Side never did it for me. I loved the Wall when I was an angsty student but the Final Cut did nothing for me. Everything after Roger Waters left is just ploddy dirge - nothing new or remotely interesting.

The Wall was the album that showed the punks were right. And the Final Cut confirmed it. Ooh listen! Another tasteful 10 minute guitar solo and lots of swirling organs played, apparently by elves, since the ego-maniacal bandleader sacked the keyboard player for being bored to death. And the last one you mentioned is even worse. All imho of course."

"Good choices Chinkey but for me The Final Cut has been my fave Floyd album for a long time. Its so wonderfully self indulgent . As are Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking, Amused to Death and Is This The Life We Really Want. Wish You Were Here is also a masterpiece of an album. Great to listen to on a sunny day. IMO it holds together as an album better than DSOTM which feels more of a collection of songs, while WYWH imo flows like one piece of music. I must admit I like an album to have a theme, rather than being a collection of tracks. Oh what the hell, I love all Floyd from Piper to The Bell. As well as almost all of Waters' solo rock albums. Only Floyd albums I couldn't get on with are Ummaguma and The Endless Drivel."
