Odds slashed from 5/1 to 7/2.

It’s extraordinary Brentford haven’t scored here. All the possession and territory. Few good saves a blocks and a slice of luck for forest. Typical for Brentford to have a very weak ham esque performance against a team they really should beat easily at home.

Forest looking odds on for a 0-1

Defensively very solid. Brentford not able to break them down at all.

Can see Forest getting another late on as Brentford get desperate

Agree I don't think Forrest are the team that we need to catch.  It's Palace and leads and possibly even Spurs.

Agree Manuel that we do need help but for now just have to focus on competing every game.  The xmas period has stacked everything against us. A couple of home defeats that even imo ( worlds biggest pessimist ) should have been draws.

Chelsea away always tough. We need more reinforcements. We dont have the squad to compete for 90 mins in any game.  Fortunately yesterday, the game was won first half.

Brentford have done everything but score in th first half. A bit of help from the football gods would be very nice here. You’d wager it was coming under normal circumstances but as it would benefit us I’m sure it’s leading to a 0-1.

If we're staying up I think we are gonna need some help. If Forest win today it will be a kick in the bollocks. If they win this and beat Palace at home next we could be fucked if we don't beat Chelsea.

I agree

Over a season your luck usually balances out, but I'm not prepared to accept that we weren't unlucky in those games

We have been very lucky with injuries though

Big win for forest today if they pull it off. It just means we cant put a foot wrong in games like Burnley away and we'll have to pull of a shock or two elsewhere (maybe something at chelsea?). I still think its too late despite our recent uptick in form.

Assume other games wont go our way. Just got to find a way of keep getting points is all we have to focus on.  It means getting more players in because our squad ( not necessarily the first choice 11 )  is still one of the 3 weakest in the division Imo

It's not luck, we only have ourselves to blame for the current position we're in. That's why that 10 game period without a win for example was so damaging to us.

Hopefully Brentfords ambitions of getting 3rd in the League with a win drives them on to get back in to it.

The incorrect use of the offside law against Forest is looking pivotal and I can’t believe more noise hasn’t been made about it. 2-0 would likely have been game over, and that would be us on 23 and them on 19. The irony being they are the club that constantly make complaints to the Premier League over officiating.
That and what I still maintain was a wrong decision for the penalty in that game. There needs to be some joined up thinking.  If Soucek hadn't got his head to it and cleared the free kick, Areola would've connected with the ball and the collision with Gibbs-White would've been irrelevant. How can a team be penalised for a defender making a clearance? Just like Areola was penalised for saving the Brighton player's shot after the handball to 'create a new phase'. Bonkers
I agree completely. I think another good comparison is when a forward gets to the ball before the keeper and gets his shot away that misses the target and the keeper then collides with the forward is never a penalty, the same should apply to examples like Areola and Gibbs-White. In that case, you could argue Gibbs-White collides with Areola as much as the other way around, given neither were playing the ball because Soucek headed it a split second before. It’s obviously going to look worse because a keeper goes with his hands. It’s never a penalty, and I couldn’t believe the number of ex-pro’s saying it was.

I dont like relying on other teams but you'd have to fancy brentford at home today. That will take a small bit of pressure off. I do fancy us for a point v chelsea, but as long as we score again and its only a narrow defeat, it will keep heads up for Burnley.

I still think if Palace draw a blank against Burnley and wolves which is maybe unlikely but possible given what’s going on there, then they are bang in trouble.
