So , twoleft, what sentence are you saying the bloke who made a general vague threat against right wingers & the Glastonbury bloke against an entire foreign military should have got?
A few years or get off free as you recommended for the Tory woman?
A woman who made a specific incitement to murder asylum seekers by burning down hotels
Very pro two tier that statement mate!!!
How about they all got warning about further posts of incitement and suspended sentences rather than only the tory bird actually gets bird?

the Glastonbury bloke against an entire foreign military
It's well known that because being an Israeli means having to perform a period of national service and many of Isreal's enemies, such as Hamas, use this to justify attacks on civilians as legitimate military targets.
When chanting death to the IDF they don't mean the Israeli Defence Force. They mean all every Israeli citizen.

JK wrote “The US (or rather Trumps administration) are fighting for free speech not to control it in their favour.”
The above statement is at odds with the facts whereby Trump does his best to either shut down or have removed from post those that, in popular media, have different views to him. How “free” is speech when simply having a different view to the President can result in pressure being put on the outlet to remove the individual the President takes a dislike to?
Trump is acting in a way that absolutely shows he wants to bring the media to heel such that only favourable comments about him are available. The good thing is that at last sentient Americans are seeing what he is up to.
That’s nonsense. Whilst Trump is highly critical of fake news and negative spin, the media is absolutely rife with criticism of him.
The accusations of anti free speech seem to be a bitterness over him successfully suing media companies that have propagandised against him. Which is completely different to the suppression that the Biden administration were found out for, when Elon Musk bought twitter and Zuckerberg admitted to congress about.
The suggestion that Trump tried to get Kimmel fired also quickly got proven as hysterical nonsense.

We can get there in the end , Billy
What do YOU think should be the penalty in each case?
I think the Labour politician should have got a year, a lifetime ban from public office & a million pound fine
Gastonbury bloke was making a political comment against a foreign military force committing atrocities. Think that comes under free speech. Penalty … must appear at Glastonbury for the next 20 years with all fees going to charity
The Tory woman incited the murder of identifiable groups. 5 years in jail, million pound fine
You?

Christmas Eve and I’m still living in your head rent free
What does “I am a Muslim I don’t care rate Christmas’ even mean? At least make it make sense.
Ive just got home from mass btw. I reckon that’s pretty Christian.

It all falls under the banner of hate speech.
Bullshit but thats where we are.
If the woman can get 31 months for what she said, then surely the Labour councillor should have been given a similar sentance.
Again, had someone took the stage at Glastonbury and was chanting that Palestinians be killed, i really don't think they'd have got off scott free.

I’m not excusing anyone
Im asking what you think should be the penalty for the Labour bloke, Glastonbury bloke & the Tory moron woman?
Prison term or no sanction whatsoever?
I understood you thought Tory woman inciting mass murder should have received no penalty
Re: The Official Politics Thread (enter at your own risk)
So the USA have banned five Europeans and stopped them entering the country and exercising their right of free speech.
Oh and these five do not give a fig about what the USA does within its borders they just don’t want the free run that the media gets in the USA which allows. hatred, lies, deliberate misleading.
As Nutsin inadvertently demonstrates on here the gullible need protecting.
No, it’s the opposite. These people have been pressuring US tech companies into undermining free speech. They represent a strict left wing European DSA policy and shouldn’t have any authority to do so there.
These people represent an ideology that has seen Britain become the number one nation for arrests for online comments.
The US (or rather Trumps administration) are fighting for free speech not to control it in their favour.

'Slit the throats of right wingers' is more than a vague threat. Can you possibly imagine if a right leaning Tory directed such a comment at Rayner et al? He'll breaking loose would be just the beginning.
But you carry on excusing those on 'your' side Sven, its what lefties do best.

So the country, where media oligarchs and the President champion free speech, will not grant visas to enter to five Europeans because they don’t like what they have to say.
The five people concerned are not racist, misogynistic, war mongering or religiously bigotted either.

Exactly Jaan. We all know what the EU and British Gov’t are doing. It’s not rocket science.
Amyone who speaks out against them they go after them. Look at what they are trying to do to Farage.
Same play book we have by the Dems over here against Trump. Calling someone Racisy It’s all they have. They do it because the idiots fall for it over and over again.

The dopey Tory cow Connolly was jailed for inciting murder
Get it right
The dopey Labour cսnt Ricky Jones however got let off despite putting his fingers across his throat and saying death to right wingers.
The dopey left wing rap artist Bob Vylan also let off despite saying death to the IDF
Two tier? You’d better fucking believe it.

And Brian Connolly was found guilty of murdering his lines in Eastenders but even he didn't get almost 3 years in nick like she did.

Who is in jail for criticising the government?
Kemi Babadook & Nazi Nigel criticise the government every week
Nige was complaining about the government not letting him trail hunt with his fox hunting mates just last week
When is he coming up for sentencing?

Not sure about how many are doing bird (Connolly springs immediately to mind) for it but think I heard something like 8000 arrests for it recently and now more than Russia (that we can rely on..). Not good direction of travel.
