The Ashes.

Post only1billybonds »

Just been announced that Josh Hazlewood will miss the first test due to start in Perth next Friday. This is a big blow to the Australians as they will already be without their captain and no.1 pace bowler Pat Cummins.

Englands preparations for the tour has been questioned by many as they have opted to play no warm up games aside from a one off against the English lions.

Many are saying that its crucial that we get of to a good start in Perth which basically means we cant afford to lose seeing as the 2nd test in Brisbane is a day/night game ( fucking ridiculous) where the Aussies are strongly fancied.

Looking forward to this now but really unsure of how it will play out, I guess I'd still make them slight favourites due to home advantage. Going to be a few all nighters in the coming weeks for me, let's hope it'll be worth it.

I also found the Smith decision a strange one.
If Marsh hadn't picked up his injury, Smith would still be sitting at home.

Poor batting effort from Australia , no support for Matt Renshaw
He has resurrected his game and personally would see him opening in the Test team with Kellaway ahead of Wetherald now that Khawaja has retired with Head back to no.5

Only the selectors can explain why Australia’s best player of spin (Steve Smith) has only just been picked as an injury stand by player
Was brilliant in the tail end of BBL and should have been first name on the team sheet

The Saffas v the Taliban was a crazy game. Swung back and forth so many times in the final two overs.
It was the Afghsns game to lose at one stage which is precisely what they did.

If international t20 is to continue it as said should be as a World Cup every 4 years and no other t20’s in between
Noone really cares about franchise t20 but it makes a lot of money and keeps players in the game longer playing til 37 or 38
I see Pat Cummins has decided he isn’t fit enough for the t20 World Cup with the suspicion he will suddenly be fit to take up his 3 or 4 million dollar IPL contract

Well international cricket is quite openly corrupt in the way it in run and organised like most elite sport these days (see FIFA, UEFA, FIA etc.).

Cricket is exceptionally farcical and corrupt given its run globally by the BCCICC for the interests of India and India alone.

I think there is a space for international T20 cricket but the "World Cup" should be held every four years inbetween the proper (50 Over) world cups. They should also bin off the "Champions Trophy" again.
