He’s got me stumped. He puts in so much effort and runs all day and makes us a lot better off the ball as well as trying hard when we have it, harasses defenders and tires the opposition out to give a good opportunity for Wilson to come on. I like him. We are better when he’s playing…
BUT he seems like an utter donkey. Giraffe on roller skates. Woeful touch under any sort of pressure and off the speed of the game in any sort of tight situation and looks less likely to score than Areola. Like the absolute opposite of Wilson who has none of th physical tools but all the brain and composure.

Hope he's back soon as looks vital to the way we want to play surely others can see we don't have a viable alternative.
Certainly better than the old man up front, but I'm still not having it that he's the second coming as some make him out to be. Suspect he'll be back for Brentford or City. And don't worry too much about being proven correct, it's just an internet forum populated by cunts.
Nobody has ever said that have they just that he's the only viable option if we want to play two up front which he is and I think it was obvious because prior to his and Taty's arrival we didn't try it.. They're a good partnership who defend from. The front restricting how the opposition play.. It's an odd one as their goal involments are minimal but it just helps us be further up the pitch and we look better for it, definitely a case of the sum of the parts being better. So while not the next coming they may be enough to help keep us up and we'll all take that
Afternoon you sarky cսnt

Heard Solanke was rubbish today.
And even worse Muani and Simons alongside him. Great selections mock Tudor!

Fraser , thst stat is true, but obviously we were steady winning at Burnley.
Blimey that's quite impressive then.. So must be doing something right even if not scoring or assisting

Was just reading kumb while bored waiting for a tropical storm to pass and bloke on there reckons its because we've decided not to operate and said it'll get him back quicker but with more risk of him breaking back down.
Another reckons the only minutes we haven't won while he's been on the pitch is when he came on at the end v Burnley.. That's quite a stat if true, can't be bothered to work it out though.. But I'm sure someone can..
Bored whilst waiting for a tropical storm ?
Now that's double hard fraser son...

Technically Soucek ain't the best player we've ever seen but he certainly isn't anywhere near to being a poor signing.
He's an awkward bugger but does have a pleasing habit of regularly getting a goal when it's needed. Many more than most of the disastrous strikers that we've had to endure over the years.
He reminds me of a quote from the late, great Johan Cruyff regarding the Italian goal poacher Filippo Inzaghi...
"Technically he is one of the worst players I've ever seen, he just can't play at all but he is always in the right position to score a goal!"

Soucek has always covered a lot of distance, up with the most in the league. But that's worthless when he's been chasing shadows and not getting close enough to effect the play, numerous games where he covered the most ground but also had least touches and least successful tackles. So yes at the moment he's been doing well but may get run ragged by Bournemouth who are quick through the middle... Man U aren't... I would actually still pick him but I would also understand if he picked someone else who is a bit quicker over short distances.
This is my point. 9 goals in 35 games last season from CM. Must be approaching or has already hit 50 goals for the club. Fantastic servant and player. Most don't come close.
Yet his negatives are brought to light all the time. The reason i used him as a comparison to Pablo is because from what I have seen, this lad is also not pleasing on the eye. Getting praise because he tries hard, has alot of energy and presses off the ball. Bare minimum requirement from any player imo.
He's more physical than people give him credit for. We'll definitely miss his energy. Bit fucking weird how cagey the club are being. Won't be good news.
Very true, but you would expect we have someone who can replicate more or less what he's been doing.
We paid a fair bit for him to come in and do a specific job, not sure we would have done if we had someone who could replicate it as we had nobody doing it before he arrived
Fair point

Sometimes it has taken a couple of players to get up to speed and hard work with effort has got them through a strange start as they have been affective , Fornals was not great at first but he worked so hard so was affective from the start and eventually the rest of his game got up to speed.
Hopefully same happens for this lad. We can’t afford to carry anyone in our current predicament though. Always the risk when you buy someone from abroad and have 5 months left to save your season. Players need to hit the ground running.
No one has ran more or put more of a shift than Soucek during his time at the club and he never escapes criticism on here despite offering goals and defensive ability. saw a few posters on here still wanted him dropped for the game against Manchester.

In theory he shouldn't be that irreplaceable. Someone to come in to just give it all and run everywhere for 60-70 mins while getting involved when needed and keeping it simple.

Reports on YouTube that he's out for the season
Also saw on the rumor sites the club are being cagey about what the injury actually is. Had only recently come back from a thigh injury before we signed him. Surely not another ignored failed medical. We'll certainly miss him.
Suggestion is he was still injured and it was being managed...but obviously the pace of the game compared to what he was used to, and it's been exacerbated to the point of now keeping him out

I think he'll be a big miss, he's a big physical presence and links the play, I just don't see the same from Wilson. Adama is like a bull in a China shop. Hopefully Nuno has a plan.
