I alluded to it on the match thread. Some of the decisions against him have been beyond harsh this season. The first yellow he got today is just not a yellow for an other player. No chance. You see players literally shout fuck off at refs and get no punishment. He just threw his arm in the air in frustration. Yes he shouldn’t have kicked off after, but these pricks are without a doubt looking for a reason to book him. It feels premeditated. Call it conspiracy if you like but I’ve thought it a few times. 

He’s now put something on X to suggest that’s how he feels. 

Yes he’s a multi millionaire footballer who should get a stiffer upper lip but that was a clear head loss and continued sarcastic messaging to the FA, and I do have a little bit of empathy. I do agree with this actually. He doesn't do himself favours sometimes with theatrics but is treated like absolute dogshit by the refs. Barely ever gets a free kick and is always harshly penalised. Seems he very much has a target on his back when there are far worse offenders than him all over the division. Liverpool players did worse today and walked away with nothing. When (Diouf?) was just clearly pushed over in the first half, absolutely nothing given. That was ridiculous. Other players dive worse than him week in week out and if they have the right shirt on it's always a free kick. Other players are far dirtier than him and barely ever get booked for it. Doesn't excuse his stupidity yesterday but he's been a marked man for a while.

Fair points about the refereeing yesterday. But the reason he barely every gets a free kick is because of his diving reputation preceding him. If I was a ref I would be reluctant to give him anything either, even when it was a clear cut foul.

The ref was fucking awful. The things he let go from them and things like Magassa's card and indeed Paqueta's first card were utter jokes. His second card was absolute idiocy though. What possessed him to keep going back to the ref time after time I shall never know. Maybe it's akin to Di Canio's famous outburst vs Bradford City.

That wasn't so much the issue, it was his actions near the end and after the game playing the victim trying to excuse his pathetic behaviour.

I had dug the Scousers out for cheating throughout the game and that the Ref was taking the piss buying their antics.

I've mixed feelings about Paqueta, on his day he's the difference, but those days aren't consistent enough, we need him playing to the levek he's capable of in 80 % of our games and not 20^, so I'd look to move him on as he obviously doesn't want to be here, hence his conversations with Flamengo in the summer.

I will always be grateful for his sublime weighted pass to Bowen in Prague and can't really understand the vitriol aimed at him over his performance on Sunday, rather than the cheating Liverpool players and biased ref, over the amount of times he let their players escape punishment for fouls and playacting.
