Re: Nuno Out
So lose to Forest and Nuno STILL stays?
When is the cut off point?
A spanking away at Tottenham? A home defeat to newly promoted Sunderland? A spanking at Chelsea? A roll over at Burnley?
Ineptitude of the highest order to allow this clown to stay on and relegate us.

West Ham have no intention to sack NunoLatest from Sky Sports News' Chris Reidy:
West Ham currently have no intention to sack Nuno Espirito Santo, Sky Sports News understands, with January transfer plans centred around the Portuguese’s targets.
There have been reports that Tuesday's Premier League home game against fellow relegation strugglers Nottingham Forest, live on Sky Sports, could be pivotal for Nuno’s future after a significant defeat at bottom side Wolves.
But Sky Sports News understands that recruitment plans will continue for the players Nuno has identified who can help take them away from danger.
We (The Board) deserve all we get.

Re: Nuno Out
Doesn't matter who it is unless Sullivan provides them with at least one if not two Premier league quality centre backs. Kilman and Mav are dragging any manager down to the Championship, where they'll still be below average players. If we are to stay up, those two need to stay off the pitch to stem the flow of goals. We don't even have the option of doing what most managers would do coming in to the club in this situation which is to stop the goals going in and seek 1-0 wins, because we're going to have to score 3 every game. Sadly we are just as weak up front at the moment, with only one reliable prem quality forward in Bowen. Wilson is half a player despite how hard he tries (A for effort from him) and Summerville is just lacking the quality or the confidence or a bit of both.
Any manager needs three more players minimum, that's on the assumption Pablo can even make any difference to our attack which we have no idea about at the moment.
This squad needs major surgery in the summer, regardless of who is in the dugout and what division we are in. I think this centre back pairing would be a fucking liability in the Championship as well and likely cost us promotion. I hope to god Kilman has a relegation clause in his contract but fuck knows who would be mad enough to buy him anyway. If Palace were in for him they surely are not now.

Re: Nuno Out
Well exactly. Arguably Nuno's job will arguably be untenable if we fail to beat Forest tomorrow and especially if we lose to them. Yet meanwhile Sullivan has just let him spend £50 on two of his/ his agent's forward picks and given him the ultimatum of one game to save his job via the media.
It's a ludicrous and dysfunctional situation which sums up West Ham United under the stewardship of a terrible, incompetent football club Chairman and main shareholder.

Re: Nuno Out
I have never understood the obsession with this tippy tappy shit that modern football has become.
When I was playing I just wanted the ball lumped forward to the wings so that I could run at the full back but now it takes so long to get the ball to the final third that by the time it reaches you they have multiple players behind the ball.
Hoof it, cut out the midfield and let Bowen & Summerville have the opportunity to take on one player and get the striker in the box.
Simple really.

Re: Nuno Out
Meresca wouldn't work, this is no time for 'progressive' appointments, he's cut from a similar cloth as Loppy & Potter, possession for possession sakes, we do not have the team or structure for that. We don't have the time for someone like him to bed in his ideas. Nor do we have it for this defensive slop we're being served up at the minute.
We need a maverick, balls out, roll the dice kind of manager to try to get us out of this mess. Di Canio, Ange, along those lines. Instant impact, shit or bust. And if it doesn't work, then get one of the new fancy dan managers to build from there next season.

He is on course to surpass Grant as our worst manager ever.No way is Grant worse than the latest 3 clowns. They were fucking glory days compared to now, scotty, carlton, demba, nobes, gabbidon, vic obinna, greenie, tomkins - would all walk straight into this team. QF fa cup. They were marvellous times.
The horton heath thai massage got their claws into him and it all fell apart.
With all due mate - They were not marvellous times. Many games with that team were hard graft. We wasn't consistent. Better than now? Yes. Marvellous? No.

Re: Nuno Out
Not sure what others think, and haven't been on here for a while as been away, but my gut reaction would be to jettison Nuno and go and get Maresca. He has experience in working with younger squad and also, if worse comers to worse, experience of Championship.

Re: Nuno Out
The coaches didn't want to go with him otherwise they would have.
His no 2 went to Wolves to link up with Edwards, made a difference.
This is all Nuno's fault, he had to international breaks where he virtually a pre season. The bulk of his squad didn't go anywhere and he came up with the Brentford/Leeds results. He gave up on Saturday and against City,Arsenal,Liverpool B'Mouth 2nd half

Re: Nuno Out
Giving him the Forest game...... what's the point? we all know how this ends. Best bet is sacking him today and letting Potts and Robson have the team tomorrow.
After the weekend Nuno is now 26 games without a clean sheet.
We have let in the most goals in the league and we failed to have a shot on target against Wolves or make the keeper make a save. Embarrassing, we also gave away 8 shots on target when was the last time Wolves managed that?
There is no coming back from that result, the only thing more mental to keeping Nuno is keeping him and giving him more money to spend. Rather than have a £30m flop on our hands in few months time save the £££ and buy 3 £10m players for the championship rebuild.

It's quite clear to me that Nuno is stamping a hissy fit because he can't bring in his own coaches, which is understandable but childish at the same time.

Re: Nuno Out
Not a fan of constantly changing managers.
However, this in the Guardian is pretty damming.
Says Nuno is losing the squad because he doesn't talk to the squad and players. Apparently said little at half time at Wolves. Difficult to know if it's true.
Bilic lined up as possible replacement.

Nothing will change until Sullivan and Brady fuck off
At this point id get Carrick in and hope for the best. worst case if we go down he might be the man to rebuild a squad around.

Re: Nuno Out
It's a damn shame Marcelo Bielsa is 70 years old and Uruguay manager.
He would insist on taking charge of the development squad for the rest of the season so he could whip them into shape to be the backbone of the team next season.
They didn't call him loco for nothing. There's a method to the madness.
Plus, I'd quite like to see some of the current cunts in our squad litter picking around Hackney Wick or even better the old Stratford Shopping Centre on the Broadway.
They fully deserve it.
