Currently one point off an automatic promotion spot.

It'd be good having them in the PL innit?

Provided we stay up, obvs.

Would liven the place up a bit.

In short, if it looks like happening, the word will go out to all involved to make sure that it doesn't actually happen.

I'd like to think that would not be the case, but a big part of the sanitation of the game is the stamping out of local tribal activities.

Unfortunately not. Very difficult to make that work.

Yep - just don't open the site. Try KUMB - less likely to test your tolerance.

Thought I'd be helpful by quoting this so everyone's kept in the loop. HTHYC

Aye aye...a thread i can reply and enjoy...

To be honest as Wall always expecting the worse...so thats

1) You to score a last minute winner against Leeds to stay up on Goal Difference and Forest the other team to go down not Spurs
2) We lose on penalties to Wrexham in the play off final
3) As we have been well punching above our weight in the Championship for over 5 years now (5th lowest budget in the league (it finally catches up with us next season and we have a play off hang over that puts us in a relegation battle all season)
4. You get new owners next season and the likelihood you ever being in a relegation battle again in my lifetime is non existent....

Of course if Carlsberg did promotion seasons...

it would literally be opposite to all of the above...

Millwall aren't our biggest rivals. You can only have a meaningful rivalry with a club you play against and Millwall are never good enough to do this except for the odd cup match or in one of our rare relegation years.

They are though our most hated club, which is not quite the same thing.

I happened to do a job at The Den last year.
In their hospitality suite, in the corridor to the loo, they have a photo montage on the wall that includes a picture of them celebrating “The Mother’s Day Massacre Of West Ham”, March 2004 when they won 4-1. Listing the goal scorers. They can’t even spell Christian Dailly’s name correctly.
Wankers.

PB has ecohed my feelings perfectly. I see Millwall as our real rivals and whilst despising them I have a grudging respect for their club and fans.

As for Tottenham, i just don't like them, never have.
Got no real feelings either way for Arsenal or Chelsea, whatever sucsess/lack of means nothing to me.

I don’t like Spurs and would laugh my bollocks off if they went down, but Arsenal are arrogant cunts, Chelsea too, and Spurs are deluded divs who need a run in the second division to temper their self image as a giant of the English game.

Wall are our rivals, unquestionably. Fucking despise them, but unlike the others have respect for their club and supporters. Very much like us.

We would sort of want them to establish themselves so we get to play them regularly. That’s not to say that we wouldn’t celebrate them going down.

Completely different to the Sp*rs scenario who we play every season.

It says that we'd enjoy a lively rivalry encounter because it can be difficult to get excited playing BEIGE clubs such as Burnley and Bournemouth etc.

I’ve been to the last three games between us, and the two in the league were drab. At The Den, boring 0-0 and kept outside the South Bermondsey until Police cleared the platform of vermin, then held at London Bridge for two hours before being sent to Canning Town. I lived in Bromley at the time, so the detour wasn’t ideal.

Upton Park, 2-1 to us, first time we’d beaten them in the league in nearly two decades (maybe it was two decades). Their lot in the Trev Upper, Nolan sent off after 16 minutes, Winston Reid becomes a cult figure, though credit to Julian Faubert and his rugby tackle on David Forde, and the ref going blind for the assists.

Never been ‘involved’, so no idea how the chaps got on.

I reckon both games will be on the box absolutely no question. Sky/TNT will be pissing their pants with glee over it. It wouldn't be a surprise if the 'random' fixture computer happens to throw us together on the first day of the season at the shithole den.
They would be on TV and they both would be 12.30pm kick offs for obvious reasons.

I train a couple of Millwall lads, one of them is getting married, it's his stag do in June, he bet me (before Christmas) if they get promoted I'd have to wear a Millwall top on his stag do, likewise, if they don't, he has to wear a West Ham one. Was never bothered until the past week, now he's asking me my shirt size.
