There is a case for that but Magassa is a very poor player in my opinion and I've lost ant faith I had in him after he stunk the place out against QPR.
I would consider starting Potts and bringing Soucek on for him in the second half.
Magassa is 6 feet 2, Potts is 5 feet 7 ( I had to to google, but I knew Magassa was taller)
So what? Your comment mentioned the Man Utd midfield is more mobile than our recent opponents. Why are you bringing height into it?
Magassa night be taller than Potts but I rate Potts as the better midfielder.
Soucek is playing in before Potts for reason for his defensive capabilities Fernandes is the playmaker, We need stop conceding goals and Magassa has more in the engine room that Soucek who played on Saturday

We’ve won three out of the last four games with Fernandes and Soucek in the middle, so of course Nuno is going to stick with a winning formula.
I wasn't the only one that noticed that.

He will, but it would be a mistake to. Surely it depends on the opposition?
We don't have the quality in midfield to tinker game by game.
Bomb out Soucek for Potts/Magassa? No fucking chance.

Sure. So who you playing instead of Soucek who's just played every minute of our recent 3 wins in the last 4 and a player who started the draw at Old Trafford, just as he did in our last win against Man Utd scoring himself?

There’s still plenty of time for Potts and Magassa to make a contribution. Too many on here want to write players off. I remember reading that Summerville was a Championship player at best - he just needed a goal to get his confidence up.

Magassa last started in the league in the 3-0 Wolves debacle. That will explain why Nuno has clearly, and rightly, lost faith in him.

Probably unpopular but Wilson yesterday for me showed why he should be the one coming on, not starting. He doesn’t have the legs anymore for a starting role. Let Pablo and Taty tire defenders with constant running and bring Wilson on for 30 minutes when it’s easier to find space.
Out of the 9 times he has started this season we have won 3, drawn 3, lose 3. And we've only won 6 times and drawn 5 times all season long. He keeps opposition Defences occupied as well as be a constant threat in front of goal that Teams cannot take lightly scoring 5 and assisting 1. I think it works fine him playing the 1st half/up to an hour then taking him off for fresh legs helping us gain a foot hold in games.

Opinions as always. Magassa can be a decent player and has shown that at times. Struggled in a couple of games but also was decent alongside Potts in 3 or 4. Why Nuno relegated him and Potts to zero minutes, after a couple of dodgy games / results, is a mystery to me especially since we struggle as a team with stamina / energy after 60-70 mins.
Magassa as a replacement for Soucek after 60 mins seems worth a try especially in games like yesterday where Soucek struggles to be involved

Westham67 - Freddie Potts is 6 feet tall.
I think Paco Jemez must be helping this slow turnaround, can't be coincidence.

They still haven't addressed this habit they've had since Moyes' time, of sleepwalking into the second half. Is it a fitness issue? A psychological issue? Or a tactical issue? It is so frustrating to see them throw games away transferring to low block tactics and not getting out of their own half.

I hope Nuno starts Magassa rather than Soucek against Man U. Their midfield is more mobile than the last three teams we have beaten

Ron, I also thought Hermansen did well, but it was a very hard test was it? I will worry less if he starts the next game, but still prefer Areola.
Fernandes is class isn’t he and only 21! How old was Rice when we sold him? I think Fernandes may be better at 21 than Rice was.
saw a comparison between premier league midfielders and Fernandes stats this year are right at the top alongside Rice. Even more impressive is that we are struggling in the bottom 3.
I saw this and I think it was highest success for each metric in a single match, over 75 for each thing and only two midfielders have accomplished that this season Rice and Fernandes

He's our most important player, alongside Bowen. And that's not getting carried away - he has been consistently outstanding since Paqueta fucked off.

Pablo was limping a minute after he came on, may have even been limping when he came on and it looked worse at the end? Wonder if it had anything to do with Wilson starting, and playing the majority of the game in that position?
Probably Pablo might be carrying a "Knock"

This form all stems from that QPR game when Mav got injured and Nuno brought on Pablo and went 2 up front.
I dread to think what would have happened without that injury

I was critical of the keeper change, but in fairness, he is a very composed keeper despite his previous form. Fair play to him. Still looks a bit small but will probably make less errors than Areola even if he doesn’t make as many unexpected world class saves.
Fernandes is absolutely class. He’s the Rice replacement. Does it all.
Incredible turnaround from Summerville. Thought he would never find end product at the turn of the year, and in reality he should be 6 in 6 but for the incorrect application of the offside law vs Forest, which also might prove to be pivotal come the end of the season.
