Just reading a Forest forum, it seems they are all longing for Nuno back and rueing him leaving in the first place. Looks like they never warmed to Dyche at all.

But seen quite a few on here wanting Nuno out, and seen Dyche's name mentioned frequently as someone we should've got in instead.

Who would you rather have in charge?

Was there that day and can confirm it was one of Allardici's finest moments (as I was for the Maiga winner in the Cup the same season). That Ravel goal will live long in the memory. Oh when the Spurs, go 3-0 down I wanna be in that number..

I'm guessing they just wanted to get through the round so resorted to the mean. Thankfully Burton were pretty average.

my problem, and there was evidence at the weekend, that he seems to have learned nothing from that recent improvement in form. he will not, under any circumstances, play one of the youngsters in a two man attack so we're back to three across the middle or five at the back. neither work under him, and we're back to square one. a lone striker isolated, not enough bodies pushing forward and constantly on the back foot. You have to be really, really stubborn not to admit that we've been good to watch since he got a couple of his own players in, and has had ample time to work on the squad. I was furious when he wouldn’t start with Wilson when he was the only option, but fairs fair, he didn't put together that god awful squad.

I don't hate or dread going to watch under Nuno like I did under particularly Potter or Lop or the last 12 months of Moyes.

I genuinely think unless we hire Klopp as manager most fans wouldn't be happy with who we have in charge.  Very few managers of midtable teams play the sort of football the fan base seems to want....which is high octane, aggressive, direct football. 

As Ange showed, unless you have extremely good players and the right players it's a one way ticket to the bottom. 

The football Nuno has us playing right now is genuinely.very good. Passing through midfield, wingers that run at their fullback, quality central midfielder in Fernandes and fullbacks that looks to get forward.

I can't remember the last time we scored open play goals that as high quality as we have the last 5 games or so 
.

We look to press initially to try and win it back high up before dropping into shape so we can use our pace on the counter in transition. 

Neither. One is dull, boring and has no idea on tactics, subs or game management. And so is the other one.

whatever ongoing criticisms we have 
and 
things we can say he’s done wrong / missed out on etc

the improvement on either of potter or lope is huge

Yeah, I agree with that. I wish we had more ambitious owners, who knew how to run a club properly and identify players and managers to fit, but we don't. 

With that in mind, I reckon he's about as good as we can expect. If we get lucky and stay up, I reckon we'll be well in the top half next season. I also enjoy the spells of good football we've put together over the last 5 games.

He does improve players as well, certainly defenders. Apart from Kilman, but that's definitely not his fault.

All that said, I still think we're going down. It just seems like the planets are aligned, Potter done the damage (yes, the owners are to blame) and Nuno didn't help himself initially, but it just feels like the luck ain't with us.

Does seem to me that Nuno, Dyche and Moyes are all similar managers really.

I’d say Dyche is the most limited, with Nuno being the most exciting and Moyes the most successful.

I think Nuno is doing alright.  Picking up points, playing youth and we are letting in less goals. In addition several players are playing much better.  What was everyone expecting from the crap squad?  Forest fans may want him back, but I can't see him working for Mr Creosote again.  Dyche a step back in football terms imo.  Even if we go down I think he would be the best option to get us straight back up.
