I don't have a problem with say a black actor playing what may traditionally be a white fictional role as say James Bond. What I can't fathom is how they can cast a black woman in a historical role like Anne Boleyn. The message this sends is we can't now produce historical dramas of this or simular periods as there are no definable black characters involved or we can but have a black Elizabeth I for example. Would it be OK to have Martin Luther King played by a white man ...not blacked up like Olivier in Othello I might add?
