Not a huge fan of Mike & the Mechanics but as soon as I first heard a snippet of this song when it was first released I knew I’d like it.

II Lento E Largo - Tranquillissimo - David Zinman & The London Sinfonietta with Dawn Upshaw

I find the whole album a wonderful mind freshener; I simply switch off/move to auto-pilot while listening to it.

It first came to my attention when I was studying the 4th year of my OU degree and I'd often go into listening to the piece with a problem and come out with a solution, but have no idea how I got there; no drugs, no drink, nothing except a big cup of tea.

I'd then have to reverse engineer & write out my solution to match the problem - bit of Pink Floyd, or even Led Zep often helped there.
