I'm quite excited as the tiny hotel in the middle of nowhere, where I work has 'Paul Weller' coming to stay tomorrow for 2 nights  I hope it's not him as we're nearly finished for the season and the place is looking like shit

Will report back if it's him

And quite a lot of Ren.

Not sure if I've seen him mentioned on here before but he's very good.

started watching him a while back with a busking band in Brighton called The Big Push. they're entertaining, I'm not too keen on his solo stuff

It's kind of counter-intuitive, but speaking as someone who learned to play the guitar trying to copy stuff by the likes of AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Van Halen and Gary Moore, I find this kind of choppy, clean, funky playing incredibly difficult. Maybe it's just because it's so alien when you've spent decades fundamentally relying on distortion and lots of sustain?

On paper it seems so simple, but getting the feel right in the band situation is another thing entirely.

Always thought a film based on the lyrics of this song would make a decent watch. This, along with 'Sad eyed lady of the lowlands' are among my Dylan favourites.

And as a contrast the 2025 version, with added sax, trombone and less flash and more groove.
Unfortunately it does also highlight that his voice isn't what it once was, but few singers escape this sort of deterioration decades into their career.🤷‍♂️
