I think we're fucked.

Listened to the Bobby Moore Stand last night.  Anyone know if they are in the loop well or not?  

They had a section describing our finances and basically if we go down we sound absolutely fucked financially. We've borrowed and mortgaged our selves up to the eyeballs and we still owe shit loads on transfer payments and wrote off most of our incoming payments to buy the shit that we have the last 2-3 years. 

That investment in players has provided nothing but players worth a fraction of what we bought them for. It all just sounds one big mess. 

The main guy, Gary is it?   is convinced Sullivan is happy to go down to strip the squad of most its value and then scarper. As we don't own a stadium or much in assets is the most valuable part of the club the squad. He can strip that then sell it for whatever he wants and fuck off into the sunset with his brass of a mrs. 





 

 

I don’t see the logic of wiping millions of pounds of value off the club due to relegation, then even more by selling what he can player wise seen as due to relegation he’s not going to get decent offers for most of them and decreasing the value of the club even more on the process before finally selling it for peanuts because no one will want it for more than that after all he’s done. Surely best to try and keep the value of the club at its highest. I’d have thought he’s been clinging on to get hold of the stadium before selling. Admittedly us getting relegated might help with that due to the even smaller rent costs we’ll be paying. 

However if he’s really feeling the pressure due to footballing and other reasons, maybe he will try and do that but he’s going to have to for once get real over his valuation of the club after all the damage he’s inflicted upon it and accept a far lower price than he’s been touting. 

I do not doubt the finances are fucked though. All these loans and whatnot and running the business on the never never will come home to roost. Sounds like imminently as well. 

Its more him just selling players and pocketing the cash which is easier to do if we get relegated.   

I am not even sure how you would go about valuing us if we go down, or if there are any buyers willing to take us on with no ground etc.... 

Going down and doing a firesale of the squad might be his most lucrative exit strategy

I'd be OK with it if they promised to fuck off afterwards. I think it would be quite exciting to build a young squad under new owners in the championship that develops over a number of years and then comes up to the Premier league. But until they fuck off I'm going to have to keep wishing and hoping for Sully's helicopter to crash into Bradys house in an enormous fucking fireball.

Trouble is end of the season he's pushing 30, and we'd be relegated. 50m would be about the rate at that point. Could see it less (40 to 50m).

There seems to be.a yearning amongst some to write this season off already, cash in on our assets in January and start again afresh with a young team in the championship.

I find this not only defeatest but also extremely naive on many fronts.

Playing championship football at Upton park was one thing but we now have a 63k arena that is souless and bereft of atmosphere at the best of times and that is in the premier league.

What kind of average crowd would we expect to get in the second tier should we not hit the ground running?

Stoke or Sunderland on a Tuesday night you are probably looking at a third of the capacity with upper tiers closed.
Opposition teems will enjoy playing us with likely larger than normal away allocations to boost the figures and the sparse home support hardly raising an audible murmur.from the other side of the running track.

There is no chance of creating an intimidating atmosphere or raucous twelfth man type support as the design of the ground just doesn't allow for it and most of the old school vociferous fans have given up the ghost already.

If we go down we will become the team everyone fancies playing against at home and a novelty for visiting fans singing "you sold your soul"

We will struggle to sell on our dead wood such as Kilman 
and attract interest for the decent young players we wish to keep.

The souless and toxic atmosphere will also deter many players from signing for us.

If we go down we will stay down and possibly drop further.

We need to be getting behind the team in the next month regardless of the issues that exist and hoping we.czn string some results together to give ourselves a fighting chance.

As fans we have also become (perhaps understandably to some extent) apathetic.

How many sing chant and watch the whole 90 ?

A lot of disinterest, chat amongst ourselves and people checking their phones to see how their accumulators are doing.

We concede and people are heading to the bar or if second half for the exits 

We moan about the atmosphere and the tourists around us and yes we pay our money and take our choice of what we do of course and there are still enough who care  to raise a decent protest against the owners but overall do the majority really put a shift in at home ?

I will still turn up on a wet Tuesday night in the championship  but how many of those relative newbies who love telling everyone of their exploits on that summer night in Prague will be ?

Resilience hope and a sense of humour are and always have been the prerequisites required to be a West ham fan and all three are certainly needed right now.

CB: Kilman, Mavropanos, Casey, Golambeckis
CDM: Potts, Magassa, Orford, JWP
ACM: Soucek, Kante, Fearon
FW: Summerville, Earthy, Guilherme, Traore
ST: Marshall, Ajala, Cummings

It's not too far from a squad I'd be open to watching.

At the same time, we could expect to get:

If with that, we were to go get someone like Carrick through the door as manager, a young hungry squad with a huge academy influence, and a few 'proper' seasoned pro's like Soucek, JWP, KWP, and Kilman to support with worthwhile experience, I could see following that side being a more enjoyable experience than the last few have been.

Add on top a few sensible additions:

Charlie Cresswell (20m), Hayden Hackney (15m), Joe Gelhardt (10m) and Žan Vipotnik (10m)...and youd have a youthful side that could have a real go.

I watched a bit of the Sunderland v Leeds game earlier. Sunderland will be fine, half decent team and a progressive manager. Leeds will also be OK as they are playing OK football and have a striker in Calvert Lewis who is scoring (we didn't want him because he was shit according to some)

Wolves have gone
Burnley are also likely to go
Final place is us/Forest and I would rather have Forest' squad right now 

We'll lose the next few and also get done in the FA Cup and be 7-10 points off safety come mid January.

I haven't stopped moaning/whining for the past four seasons saying this brand of defeatist, negative shit football isn't sustainable and we'd eventually get found out. this is the season. it doesn't make me happy, especially now the midget cսnt is letting everyone know he's run up the debt levels yet again which means very little spending, and the cashing in of what talent we have left. you couldn't run a club worse than they have. the only visible assets I see, are the poor cunts that still trudge over to that shithole every other week. you couldn't pay me to set foot in there
