The Ashes.

Post only1billybonds »

Just been announced that Josh Hazlewood will miss the first test due to start in Perth next Friday. This is a big blow to the Australians as they will already be without their captain and no.1 pace bowler Pat Cummins.

Englands preparations for the tour has been questioned by many as they have opted to play no warm up games aside from a one off against the English lions.

Many are saying that its crucial that we get of to a good start in Perth which basically means we cant afford to lose seeing as the 2nd test in Brisbane is a day/night game ( fucking ridiculous) where the Aussies are strongly fancied.

Looking forward to this now but really unsure of how it will play out, I guess I'd still make them slight favourites due to home advantage. Going to be a few all nighters in the coming weeks for me, let's hope it'll be worth it.

Fair play as a 20 over game turning into a 5 over coin toss would have been a travesty

Not sure how the groups are fixed by India for the 8’s but can see India, S Africa , Sri Lanka & Windies in the semis & maybe a SA v India final
You will avoid the group wooden spoon, every cloud....

Just a bit of fun

I guess the Ashes debacle is in the past now
Not as far in the past as Englands last series win of course
Is the Kiwi match fixer still running England?

Ah, the Ashes.

Has that fella who opens retired yet? You know the one that's not Australian, hates Australia, and thinks Australians are all cunts?

Thankfully, none of his teammates were Australian, so he didn't really have a reaosn hate them. Other than them being all cunts.

Hope you have paid up for both passports
Am off to Australia next month which suits me fine

Raining at Zim/Ire which could end up as a 5 over game
Australia deserve to go home so an Ireland win that keeps them partially alive would be a travesty
Will have to make do with the Ashes (plus every other bilateral Test trophy) plus 6 ODI World Cups

Its a cricket thread that has adapted into the t20 World Cup comments
I see Fraser the deportee from Australia still has a chip on his shoulder about people laughing at his toothless junkie grin while wearing sandals & socks & a knotted handkerchief on his head
Deported, nope left because I chose to, can still go back whenever I choose to as unlike you I'm actually an Australian citizen... You the fake wannabe Aussie have to get a tourist visa to go there like any other non - Australian... and talking about chips on shoulders now I understand your bitterness about me who can come and go as I please while you can't, yep you definitely have a chip on your shoulder, that stereotype description of a pom you keep describing I bet it's you nailed on..

Hazlewood last played in November, missed the entire Ashes and was only replaced 2 days ago
Utterly bizarre
I know it’s only t20 but Bailey should be on his bike.

Australia's bowling attack is very threadbare.
Marcus Stoinis can't have opened the bowling very often and it went downhill from there.

I didn't. I endured some of the TMS commentary in the car earlier and Alex Hartley and Dan Norcross and that posh  bloke (Henry?) were all doing my head in. Hartley in particular.

India presumably will be lined up for a home semi final with the other finalist forced to play in Sri Lanka before going to India
Reckon S Africa are a reasonable chance to spoil their party

Game of the tournament so far, sounded like a right ol ding dong on the radio. Dream start given to Australia by Head and Marsh then they contrived to lose a game they had no real right to. Steve Smith made a brief appearance as a sub but the silly fucker forgot to bring the sandpaper from the dressing room.

Nowhere near enough
SL win at a canter
Bit of a debacle at the selection table
Picked injured players , out of form players & has beens & never got going
George Bailey as selector rightly will come under pressure

Head & Marsh get off to a flier but the rest fall in a heap & Australia scrape to 181
Might be enough but maybe not
Smith left out for a bunch of batsmen who have done nothing
Will have to win & smash Oman to get in on NRR

Surrey's Will Jacks saves the day for England with a superb unbeaten 53 from 22 balls to take England above 200.

Steve Smith finally added to the Australian squad replacing Hazlewood who hadn’t played since November!
No certainty for the must win game v Sri Lanka today as Mitchell Marsh’s testicle has reduced from the size of a basketball
Been a bit a selection debacle & Australia are out if they don’t win today
