Podcast reccomendations

"We got a movie and box set thread; anyone got any recommendations for a decent podcast? Not just football related but on anything that may be of interest. About the only regular podcast i listen to is Joe Rogan, the recent one with Russel Crowe is quite entertaining although a bit long."

he's from canning town so of course he's a character (his brother bill, even more so). his family home backed on to my old primary school. for a long while I resented him doing what he did towards the club but in hindsight completely back him. if more ex managers had spoken their minds and not signed NDAs, we wouldn't be in the shit we're in now

Not met Curbs myself, but know someone that has, and he's supposed to be really good company, as you say very funny, which you would never have him down as.

Enjoyed that. Interesting to find out the Club were sniffing around him when Redknapp left because had he done, it would have prevented a lot of turmoil for the Club that eventually happened once we installed the wrong man in Roeder. Just wasn't to be..

Yea Curbs often gets a bad wrap for being dull but I think he's a good storyteller, speaks well and is a good old east end boy - I'd rather listen to him rather than Redknapp. The part in this when he and his assistant visit PDC's house in Loughton to try to sign him for Charlton is genuinely funny. Don't really have much of an opinion on how and why he left but enjoyed our time under him and remember being disappointed when he left.

I've just been listening on BBC Sounds the History Bureau- Putin and the Apartment Bombings.

Just shows how fucked up Russia is. Well worth a listen.

Not a podcast as such (although he does do them on other channels) but Internet Historian is a pretty funny youtube channel, here's an example of his work talking about the Costa Concordia fiasco

Just found this.

Let Me Be Frank" is a weekly, unfiltered football podcast hosted by Celtic and West Ham legend Frank McAvennie and co-host Simon Houston. The show features candid conversations, inside stories from Frank's career, and interviews with guests from sports and entertainment, focusing heavily on Scottish football and candid, "no-nonsense" opinions.

There are a load of good ones on the BBC Sounds app. The Missing Crypto Queen is a brilliant documentary but there are others like Death In Ice Valley and 30 Seconds To The Moon, The Lazarus Heist etc.

Elsewhere, The Mismatch for NBA coverage is good. The Rest Is Entertainment if you can tolerate Richard Osmond and Brydon& for interviews of most British comedians.
