Not beating Fulham at home is a big missed opportunity for them. Basically, they’re no better off this weekend - yet we played Man City.

Got to find a way to get something at Villa. Even a point there keeps the momentum going into some winnable games.

Apart from the set piece nonsense, I feared playing these more than Arsenal. Arsenal are looking blunt in everything but cheating set pieces, and I thought we defended them superbly yesterday. We should go into the rest of the fixtures full of confidence. 

I’m convinced Disasi must be Chelsea’s best centre half!

 

I hope we do MCity a favour and beat Arsenal at the bowl.
Also, the support I hear recently on my rv, says we might have to start calling it the West Ham Cauldron.

Arsenal will have all but won they league by the time we play them and they may well still have FA Cup and CL obligations - we will not be a priority and sense we could well get something out of that game if we show up.

Not talking about last night particularly, but in general we have been better to watch as a team over the last few months.

Last night you just have to take it into consideration that we are playing Man City who desperately needed to win. In that context that was an amazing defensive performance. 1 shot and 1 goal is classic Mourhinho park the bus, executed to perfection.

it's interesting listening to Lego Head recently. He's developed this smug, faux intellectual demeanour where he takes the bright side on everything. I was thinking that last night. I’d LOVE it if we could beat Arsenal those fucking cloggers. Man City are frail but at least they have principles and try to play football rather than rugby.

We definitely were better against Liverpool but that goes to show you what a strange game football can be. Especially up there where they only need to get it to within 30 yards of our goal for it to get deflected in somehow.

I thought Traore was poor when he came on, I thought it was the right call but he can only run for a few seconds then looks fucked.

I genuinely couldn't see a way out of it, but the team have been absolutely magnificent over the last month. Even the Liverpool game, really didn't feel deserved. To come back from that and get 4 points, away to Fulham and at home to Man City, superb.

It's hard to quantify how good Mavro & Todibo were yesterday, considering he scored, Mavro produced one of the best displays in the shirt I've seen for a very long time. Immaculate. If Hermansen was 6'4, he'd be the best keeper in the league.

Nearly every single player deserves praise, Soucek was excellent in particular, but AWB - for fuck sake, I reckon he has directly or indirectly cost us about 20 goals this season, he has the odd excellent game, sandwiched in between rubbish. He's our biggest problem at the moment, now Kilman has thankfully been banished.

Being picky, I really wish we signed a striker with pace instead of Taty, yes he works hard, but he gives us zero cutting edge. I'd start Pablo over him all day long if it was a choice between the two, but this is not the time to be negative, he's doing a job, and will be involved in easier games.

I'm now starting to believe. Fair play to those who stayed positive throughout, good stuff chaps.

 

 

I know we disagreed (and still do probably). But I did say that improving "how we play" football as a team would put us in a better position later down the line than just worrying about the points we dropped early on in the season. We were a disjointed mess and if we didn't solve that those early points would mean nothing. We are not out of the woods yet but it looks for more promising now. And at least the games we play are actually enjoyable to watch, which is ultimately the whole point.

AWB - he made a few errors today but I thought his overall performance was one of his best this season - if only for keeping doku out of it when he came on.

For me Nuno is succeeding in an area where I always felt David Moyes didn't, and that is improving players. Mav, Hermansen, Todibo, even Summerville look totally different players to the ones that were struggling early season and Nuno deserves a lot of credit for that.  I like AWB but he does just need to get rid of it at times.  Dragging it back or doing his Scott Parker 90 degree spin in the right back position does put us in trouble at times but in his defence I just think it's him trying too keep possession rather than just hoof it, but sometimes Row Z is the best option!
