Re: West Ham United 25/26 relegation thread
We are a 4 goal swing away from safety as it currently stands with 8 games to go. When we strip away everything and focus solely on our remaining 8 fixtures, we couldn't ask for too much of a better run in till the end of the season and that's before you take in the player injury crisis and poor form the other Teams around us have.
Villa A
Wolves H
Palace A
Everton H
Brentford A
Arsenal H
Newcastle A
Leeds H
Even down to where the fixtures are being played during the business end of the season I couldn't ask for better.
Last game at Home being against winnable opposition. As is Arsenal, Wolves, Everton at Home which are just as winnable when we have our tail between our legs with the crowd bang at it, yes even against Arsenal.
Villa Away I wouldn't normally expect too much from under Emery but the fact they are in piss poor form makes it a realistic chance of a positive result. We managed to knock the stuffing out of Brentford recently knocking them out the Cup so know we have it in us currently to get at least a point off them. Newcastle Away I would concede is one of those under Howe I wouldn't expect anything from.
Add in to the mix we have virtually an injury free Squad now to select from with a 3 week break, bar a nice FA Cup tie at Home to look forward to coming up after the Villa game with 7 games to go, we are now in a healthy situation with real belief flowing throughout the Club of staying up. It really should be 1 out of Forest, Spurs or Leeds when I weigh it all up.
Whatever the result that happens in the Spurs game should we lose at Villa which is no shame in doing so, it still means we will be either level or 1 point from safety with Wolves at Home next after the break. However if we target the Villa game hard to win it, then it would turbo charge our chances of safety. Chuck the absolute bollocks at going for it, West Ham! To the victory, go the spoils.

Re: West Ham United 25/26 relegation thread
I think Spurs Forest next week will tell us a lot more if Spurs have turned a corner. I'm going to say it, and keeping it real, I think it's better for us that Spurs win or it's a draw. I have thought for a good while now it's between us and Forest, a Forest win at Spurs could be very damaging to us IMO. Leeds have got 3 very winnable home games coming up, I doubt we are finishing above them. We are still in a heap of trouble, no doubt.

If Forest match the performance in their most recent Away match they had, they will be beat Spurs.

Nobody REALLY believed they'd gan doon, innit.
It's between us and Forest.
That's exactly what I hope every Spurs fan or person connected to the Club continues to think. It is what has helped get them in all this trouble.

Re: West Ham United 25/26 relegation thread
Yep, been thinking for a while now that those to destructive egos at the heart of their defence are a big reason why they are in the mess they are in. No coincidence they perform better as a Team without them and that side was a mess of a Team really.
Re: West Ham United 25/26 relegation thread
I wouldn’t worry, Spurs will bring the poisonous egos back in at centre half as soon as they can and be back to where they were.
I’m not really sure them getting a point is a sign of anything. Certainly doesn’t change the dynamic for us, and it does also mean they keep the coach and don’t get a genuinely qualified firefighter in.

Re: West Ham United 25/26 relegation thread
Leeds have wolves , Burnley and Brentford at home in next 4 matches. They will be safe before we get to play them I reckon.
Leeds have not won a PL game for quite a while, been slowly sinking back down, got a point with 10 men but was more Palace being shit than Leeds battled IMO
As we have seen, no game is easy this season even bottom dwellers Wolves have been better the past month, those games won’t be easy for Leeds and won’t surprise me to see them draw or lose and fall further.
fingers crossed

Forest do the same and they probably stay ahead of us on GD.
10 from 8 will do for Spurs
8 from 8 will do Leeds....count them as safe.
Chasing is not the position to be in.
Like I said earlier, 3 pts from wolves is a must. A defeat to an out of form Villa would hurtWe have to get 1 more point than Leeds over the next 7 matches, do that and it’s us v them last match and a win sees us finish higher

Re: West Ham United 25/26 relegation thread
No change from before the weekend
would imagine Forest will be the most disappointed, a draw against a side out of form and they also failed to score again
Think Forest play Spurs next? Massive game for both, a spiteful game with red cards and season ending injuries to key players will do me
Leeds aint out of this either, got a point at Palace but look very suspect all over the pitch, that fighting spirit looks on the nose as well?

I feel the point they got had a lot more to do with Liverpool than with spurs. They’ve been pretty poor of late. They weren’t even that good when they played us, just that more or less every shot they took ended up in the back of our net via some sort of lucky deflection and the score really really flattered them. They had almost as many shots, far more possession, way more passes than they did against us. Six shots on target and five went in. Ridiculous.

Same here.
I remember my Dad was driving me somewhere and had sports report on the car radio. Jimmy Armfield piped up with "West Ham are a bad team and deserve to go down".
It hurt but he wasn't wrong.

Mine to. I can’t imagine anyone on here saw the time previous to that.

Why do you think you've been through it more than others, odd thing to assume?

Take it a weekend at a time. Another ok to good weekend. We played 2 in the league and kept it level with Forest, Spurs and Leeds! Well done! On to the next weekend.

Turned a corner? Really? Odd thing to say
That ain't what was said though. Seems entirely possible that Spurs get a bit better than they have been lately, this massive backlash has almost shamed them into putting in some effort. Some players to come back in and a kinder (on paper at least) fixture list than Forest or us. Tudor probably keeps his job a bit longer after that, so that's a bonus for everyone else.
