Scum Chelsea penalty for cheating : Minimal fine & suspended transfer ban

Post Fauxstralian »

Probably an indication of what’s to come for Man City
£10.75m fine & no transfer ban or points deduction

Understand during the current Chelsea owners due diligence when buying from Abramovich they self reported that payments had been made off the books by Putins bag man to thwart FFP
After years they get a meaningless fine & a light tap on the wrist

Chelseas is a different sort of case but was blatant deliberate cheating

So is Chelsea's. They even admit it to make it more easier! 😆

That's what it all boils down too. And we look like utter mugs to play by the book like good little boys by agreeing to tie our own hands up as the likes of Chelsea run amok as they piss all over the rulebook.

I say fuck their new SCR rules and get creative by cooking the books ourselves so to gain a competitive edge, if that's the way it's going to be. Then once we've had a decade of taking the piss, simply chuck the Premier League an Email after to say, "oops we've been a bit naughty Guv!", knowing full well we won't get a point deduction/transfer ban, whilst keeping a couple of bob in the coffers so to grease their palms later..

Yeah absolutely- the punishment doesn't seem to match the crime. They can't be made to give back any trophies they won while cheating so it's well worth it.

Reminds me of Red Bull in F1 when they ignored the cost cap to gain a competitive advantage and massive headstart on all their rivals from 2022 onward with the new ground effect regs which landed them three titles in a row before anyone could catch up. What did they get as punishment? Paltry fine they could easily pay which didn't even come out of subsequent season's cap. Was it worth it? You bet your fucking arse it was for them, with everything they learned.

Sadly in sport a lot of times cheating tends to pay off- at least in terms of the accolades/trophies it brings before anything is done about it, and when the punishment comes the trophies remain anyway.

I'll even go further to add a hypothetical. Would we accept even having had an actual draconian punishment unlike Chelsea and be in the Championship now if we'd cheated similarly and managed to win the league and/or the FA cup because of it? It's yes every time isn't it.

To be fair Everton & Leicester were straight forward cases
You lose more than allowed over 3 years & you are in breach
Everton were in breach twice and got a smaller penalty the second time
Should have been 20pts for the first & 40 for a second offence

Chelseas is a different sort of case but was blatant deliberate cheating that enable them to sign Hazard & others & win things
Should have been a fine of double the £47m of illegal payments made, a 50 point deduction & a 3 year transfer ban

The Chelsea fine? Token. A procedural shrug dressed up as enforcement. “Self-reporting” shouldn’t be a discount code. It's the same club and they did nothing about it for years.

Meanwhile, the long-running case against Manchester City drifts on, increasingly out of sync with a "FFP" rulebook that’s about to change anyway. By the time anything lands, the new Squad Cost Ratio rules will be in place and it risks feeling like yesterday’s problem, judged by yesterday’s standards, with tomorrow’s rules already upon us.

And then there’s Newcastle United: the takeover that still raises uncomfortable questions about ownership tests and where lines are actually drawn when serious money is involved.

For clubs outside the so-called elite, the pattern is hard to ignore: complexity, delay and outcomes that rarely match the scale of the issue. Whether intentional or not, it creates the impression of one set of consequences for the biggest players, and another for everyone else.

Regulation only works if it’s timely, transparent and consistently applied. Right now, it all looks negotiable if you have a large enough chequebook.

Graham Poll
Typical English referee. Arrogant, incompetent & a cheat

With his famous 3 yellow cards in the Australia  v Croatia 2006 World Cup match he booked Simonovic of Croatia the second time & didn’t send him off because he said he wrote the player down as Australian (despite him wearing the distinctive table cloth shirt) because he had an Australian accent
Australia had already qualified with the 2-2 so he disallowed Viduka scoring with the last kick as he said time was up just after the ball had left his boot

It's an odd one isn't. It's run by the 20 teams that make the rules up, break the rules, take themselves to court, punish themselves. Does not really surprise me. Even the ones more or less following the rules, probably have some interest in not following the rules.

Essentially, whilst the rest of us who do play by these constraining rules lose out. Fucking spend over the odds when it suits now, the precedent has been set and we can even tell the world we cheated too so to get even more leniency. 😂

The easiest and far more rewarding action the Ref should have done at that precise moment they all leant forward during the huddle was to let rip a right proper stinky fart.

Makes a mockery of FFP - would be better to have them go and start up the LIV/European Super League with the other corrupt collaborators (Real Madrid, Barcelona etc). Cup Finals in Dubai and Away Days in Jeddah!

it's like a league within a league, where a select group of teams are allowed to do what they want, spend what they want, have most officials in their pocket, and pay no meaningful penalty for breaking the rules.

Regardless of new Owners grassing themselves up, it was still cheating under the name of the Football Club that deserved a points deduction/transfer ban. In the grand scheme of things considering how mega rich they are, this 'punishment' doesn't effect them like it should. They've set a precedent now.

Ridiculous fine, cheaper to break the rules and pay the fine than to comply with FFP.

They must of gained an advantage 10 times the sum of £10m by signing those players and getting round FFP.

The latest evidence that the game is well and truly gone
