Underrated players at other clubs
(as a companion to the other thread)
Mark Chamberlain - Port Vale and Stoke
Beat John Barnes to the England team and was the better player for at least two years
only eight caps though

Yep, I'd say he's the best all round PL fullback I've seen outside of Ashley Cole. Never put a foot wrong defensively, never gave the ball away, 2 footed. Top drawer player.

I must have watched a different player, Vinnie Jones is one of the worst footballers I've ever seen live.
And I've watched a season of Radoslav Kovac.

I didn't like those wimbledon teams but you couldn't help notice how fit they were. I watched an interview with bassett a year or so ago, and he brought up how their superior fitness and attitude compensated for technical deficiencies. that was a decent leeds team vinnie was in

Neil Shipperley was later charged with wanking in a vehicle while watching a young girl wasn’t he?

A player I always admired was Willie Carr. Always full of running off the ball.
Re: Underrated players at other clubs
Great shouts on Irwin and Cahill. Carrick and Solskjaer were in that mould. Solskjaer would have been a regular started for most other clubs, a cracking finisher and Carrick was never in the England question as they always just tried to shoehorn in Gerrard, Scholes, Lampard and Beckham.

Tim Cahill - He would've been perfect for us. I always wished we had made Millwall an offer they couldn't refuse. He was quality. A bit spiky but great if he's on your side.

Mguinn, Watkins, Mctominay, Maguire.
Just a few names have seen on here where people turned their nose up at the thought of them playing for us.
Bonkers!

brian mcclair, I'm sure he played in the memorial game after bobby died. I thought he was a massive part of those early glory years for ferguson
for us? martin allen. never gave less than 100%, admittedly could be reckless and get in bother, but always had a goal threat along with his tireless work rate. loved him
