US Politics Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

Seems like the main politics thread is becoming a Yankee-Doodle Trump-fest, so maybe scope here to split them out.

Will see if this one gains any traction ..if it does will move over a few of the million posts from our two protagonists from the other thread.

Yee-haaa!

Doesn’t matter where we are in AUG or DEC or any other month. You and those with TDS will find reason to moan no matter what.
In the meantime we will blast them and their nuclear capabilities into the Stone Age. Hopefully will establish regime change for the better just like we did with Iraq. Then we no longer have to worry about a hateful crazy Islamist with a nuclear arsenal.
Its not Trump mate, Its the US policy in the middle east, I did post GW Bush "Mission accomplished" in regard to the war in Iraq in May1 2003, If Trump had not gone to war with Iran I would be ok with him, I have back in the UK for seven years and I don't generally get involved in US politics

You’re the coward who deep down hopes Trump takes them out once and for all and puts an end to the threat of a Nuclear Iran.
We all know that’s a risk too far. So stop the pretense you disengenuous Coward.

Stop hiding from your true feelings simply because Trump is the only one willing to step up and take the evil Mullahs head on.

It's ALL EU red tape. The UK cannot remove it, only the EU can do that. They chose not to.
That option was on the table as we could have kept standards aligned with the EU but the Tories decided not to. The issues of the extra burocracy and trade friction were pointed out repeatedly at the time but not to be seen as rule takers was deemed more important.
Thanks Gove
And UK businesses and administrations were handed an extra 4 years within which they could develop seamless and streamlined export processes, getting rid of the actual paper in the "paperwork".

They never took that chance. That's not the fault of Brexit or the people who voted for it.
I never said it was the fault of the people who voted to leave the EU.
It is entirely the fault of the Tories who decided how to implement it and picked the most disruptive version that they could regardless of the inevitable consequences.

The main thing stalling UK exports to the EU is EU red tape. The stuff we're exporting is exactly the same stuff that was accepted without question while we were in the EU, so it's fuck all to do with the quality of the exports.

They drop the protectionist shit and UK exports to the EU will rise. Of course, the inefficient protected farmers and companies in the EU will never allow that to happen,

Looks like Cuba is next.

Would be a big win for Trump bringing Cuba out of the Abyss.

The Cubans in Florida sure will be happy if Trump pulls it off.lhttps://x.com/politico/status/2032465271940850004?s=46&t=lLtbssQkNTv4aBFIadkCwg

WASHINGTON, March 13 (Reuters) - U.S. economic growth slowed more sharply than initially thought in the fourth quarter amid downward revisions to consumer spending and ‌business investment, government data showed on Friday.

Gross domestic product increased at a 0.7% annualized rate last quarter, revised down from the initially reported 1.4% pace, the Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis said in its second GDP estimate. Economists polled by Reuters had forecast GDP growth would be unrevised at 1.4%.
