If he was as good as maverick as some are suggesting, we wouldn't be the worst team in the league. It is if you spend more than three seconds thinking about it. Give it a go and get back to me.You not been watching this season? Are you aware of the position we are in, when he's mostly been playing every week?
If we can somehow get close to £30mil for him, you would have to be an idiot of colossal proportions to have to give it more than 3 seconds to come to the correct conclusion.
Then what you gonna do with that 30m? Where do you think that will go? What use is 30m over the next 5 years in the clubs current predicament? I'm intrigued.

Thank Potter for sending him out on loan as those 2 didn't see eye to eye.
Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Why wouldn't we just recall the Alvarez loan rather than Eric Dier. He's younger, fitter, and faster which is admittedly not a high bar to clear? He's also already on the books. I'm still fucked off that Guido is on the roster and not Alvarez.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
He's had 2 seperate injuries lasting 2 months out already. Yep, just what we need to rely on right now till the end of the season. Leave the Tottenham Carthorse at Monaco's knackers yard.
Haven't we learned our lessons from relying on their past it players before in relegation scraps..
*Looks in Keane and Ferdinands direction*

Dier is the Les Ferdinand/Robbie Keane move ahead of relegation. Let’s not repeat it. A couple of seasons ago, this would have been fine. But now?

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Dier is a spent force in the Premier League. He was of average pace in his pomp, and now he’s lost half a yard. He didn’t work out at Bayern because he was seen as off the pace and forced them to defend deeper than they wanted to compensate for his lack of pace.
We don’t need that. We need to get UP the pitch. Which means we need some pace back there. Not another player who forces us deeper.
Dier’s a decent player. But let him go and play in the US or Saudi. We don’t need him for six months and then expensively in the Championship.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Doesn't say much about how persuasive Nuno is trying to keep him here when they both speak Portuguese and has practically begged him to stay. He probably secretly hates the way he's playing in such a defensive Team where he doesn't even enjoy playing anymore.
He wants out, so let him finally do one. I personally think the Team and moral of the place would instantly improve just as it did when the stench of Payets move finally wafted out the door after stinking the gaff out.

in meantime Spurs are signing Gallagher for a similar price.
I fear this is another Nuno shout. He clearly loves him, he must be demanding he stays, because it is fucking mental turning down that sort of dough for a geezer who is contributing to us being a fucking diabolical team.

On another note, what’s this about -
Swindon Town captain Ollie Clarke was banned for seven matches after committing "highly violating and intentional foul play" on two opponents' "private body parts" during a game, according to a disciplinary report.

Dier did well at Bayern at think. Played all their CL games.
strange that he’s a proper Portuguese speaker so could do well with Nuno!

Tbf I can see Dier possibly turning into a Dawson like signing, which would obviously be good, he is a leader who gets stuck in

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
If we can replace him with someone who can take a penalty and not constantly give the ball away in dangerous areas then we’re already ahead.

I think the club are in an awkward spot with this and for once it's not really their doing. On the outside at least they appear to have done right by thicko Lucas, and his behaviour probably guarantees they never will again.
Is it 1) better to keep your flakey but very talented footballer even if he's playing at 50%? or 2) sell him for decent money given his form but not be able to replace him adequately because we're toxic waste and going down so nobody wants to come here? The likelihood in option two is Sully would either trouser the entire amount or take a wild punt on some other Mendes mercenary for way over their worth and way over price we'd have to sell them for in six months time.
If we're wriggling around on the hook going down the mercenary route I'd rather we approached some shit hot players on six months loan, like five or six players at once and financially incentive them to keep us up, like the Bowyer deal back in the day, but hopefully with more success.
Or spunk it all on some up and coming 18-20 year olds that will play in the championship and start prepping for a few years down there and building a squad of youngsters we can get behind.
This is a minor disaster among a series of other disasters and bad luck this season. Fucking ridiculous club. Pathetic cսnt of a player too.
Also, do we really want to stay up just to do this again next season?

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Yes the fee being mentioned makes selling him the right move but its always the Sullivan factor that puts a damper on things. Will he listen, use the fee wisely to strengthen us properly / listen to the manager, Max Hahn etc or simply see this as the way to cover what he just spent on 2 Temu forwards?

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
He’s a big name player. But unfortunately not a game changer for us historically. The stats don’t lie. I love the odd magic but in reality we are 18th and we’ve had him all season. So it doesn’t look like he’s the difference so might as well get someone in who might be.
