In these days of playing out from the back, I would go for the Striker goalkeeper for his distribution skills by using his elastic hips to throw the ball out from the back

Subbuteo cricket was nuts; the bat was four times the size of the players

I can't remember the difference although I had Super Striker. As said below decapitation was the injury of the day! Had Rugby subbuteo as well although dad was into it more than me. Big plastic rugby ball as a scrum machine, I couldn't make heads or tails of it.

Striker though, only had the one type of keeper.
I also remember the Striker players heads falling off, if they were hit too hard. Cheers Dad.
You obviously did not come from a POSH family like mine, The Keeper was on a stick with a rubber roller band on the bottom. When you moved the keeper to the left or right, the arms of the keeper that were normally by his side went into a two-handed diving position due to the friction between the roller and the pitch .LOL its a very long time ago
I did like Subbuteo, but I would unintentionally squash my players
It was a different word then, and I would say it was better for childraen

I think we're pretty much all of a certain age on here.
It was all about the red nets for me and the grandstand.
