Re: West Ham vs Man City | PL | 14.3.26 | Predictions & Match Thread

Not too worried that Forest snuck back above us. Not beating Fulham at home is a big missed opportunity for them. Basically, they’re no better off this weekend - yet we played Man City. Got to find a way to get something at Villa. Even a point there keeps the momentum going into some winnable games....

Re: West Ham vs Man City | PL | 14.3.26 | Predictions & Match Thread

Mav-nificent point! Just caught up on the game (working yesterday). As many have said already, a proper backs-against-the-wall effort. But some real fight and character emerging from a squad of players who looked a mess for most of the season. Hope Jimmy isn’t out for long. Still think we need a big...

Re: NFL (since 2016)

Just looking at the reported numbers in the Geno Smith deal. Looks like the Jets have paid just above the bare minimum and the Raiders will keep paying him, while taking Mendoza.

So he cost a 6th round pick and NFL minimum wage. It’s not a great move, but if he ends up being back-up then it’s cheap.

Re: NFL (since 2016)

It very much looks the Ravens have fucked us over after backing out of the Crosby trade. They were very aware of his medical situation as was the whole NFL world. His surgeon has said he is ahead of his rehab and expected to play as normal come opening day. Their doctor said he failed the medical, ...

Re: NFL (since 2016)

Geno is probably the death knell for Aaron Glenn.

But at least there’s less chance of Glenn wasting premier picks on a QB. I really think, the way we’re heading, we’ll have a new head coach halfway through next season.

Good job we’ve stockpiled three 1st rounders for 2027.

Re: NFL (since 2016)

Final word on the Tua malarkey. It smells a bit off - and the ramifications are not great for him. My gut feeling is that the Fish know he has a medium or long-term medical issue (he has a history with concussion, of course). If he had been traded, even in a trade that was not great for the Fish, Mi...

Re: Mohamadou Kante

He's a good young player and has been playing well in the stiffs for ages. He didn't play well at Burton, but those (thankfully few) who jumped on his back after one game were the usual "sofa perfectionists". Glad he put in a good performance last night. He has talent and we need to keep d...

Re: NFL (since 2016)

You never know what's happening behind the scenes, but the Fish didn't seem to try too hard to soften the blow by trading Tua rather than releasing him outright: even if the return was only a late-round pick and required Miami to retain a share of his salary. Even a bad trade would have shifted at l...

Re: NFL (since 2016)

As for the Dolphins. Tua is going to get released for a $99m cap hit. Ouch. We're also trading Minkah Fitzpatrick to the Jets for a seventh round draft pick. Hopefully there will still be a half decent OL or CB on the board. I very much doubt it though. That's an insane cap hit. The Fish are enteri...

Re: Fulham vs West Ham | PL | 4.3.26 | Predictions and Match Thread

As a few have mentioned, despite the win, going 4-4-2 doesn’t help us. We’re not great in central midfield as it is, but asking two players to compete with three in the centre of the park will cause us more problems than it solves in the long run. I get that Spud can drop deep when required, but it ...

Re: Fulham vs West Ham | PL | 4.3.26 | Predictions and Match Thread

As well as Forest, I still think Leeds might be the team we could catch.

If we can get to within two points of them for the final game of the season, then we have it in our hands.

Re: Fulham vs West Ham | PL | 4.3.26 | Predictions and Match Thread

Great result, even if the performance wasn't special. But a clean sheet away from home - which was crucial after the weekend thrashing. And another goal for Summerville, who has woken up over the last few months. Nuno is getting him into better, more advanced positions than other managers did. Man C...

was Mads that bad at Anfield to cause such a bashing on here?   Van Dijk header dont think anyone could of done better.  3 of the other goals were deflections.  Yes, he was abysmal. Re: Latest accounts

Why pay to have an option on Sullivan’s shares if you have zero interest in buying them? Because he's a businessman with multiple interests and, when he had several options on how to invest his growing fortune, he did that to give him the choice of being first in the queue at West Ham. Without soun...

Re: Latest accounts

Kretinsky still stands to make money on his West Ham investment IF the club is sold in the near future. So paying for the option was not a bad choice for him at the time.

Re: Latest accounts

I have often found myself pondering whether this is the Kretinsky plan all along but it's taking so long to come to fruition that it's only natural to suspect other motives. For what it's worth I think he got lumbered with investing in West Ham via one of his employees looking to diversify his port...

Honestly, I really don't know who the hell is doing our scouting at West Ham (actually, I think we all know ultimately!). We are atrocious at scouting players and we have been for more than a decade. It's just wild scattergun bollocks. The first thing we need to do when somebody serious is running t...

“Hermanson I’ve grown to like more - a shot comes in and he collects better than Areola. He then distributes quickly to one of our players.” None of that is enough to pick him over another keeper. It’s PotterThink - and we know how that ends. When signing a player, you start with the fundamentals of...

Watch the goals again. For the first three goals, he never leaves his line at the corner, he never once attacks the ball (all three land inside the six yard box, even the first goal which is never cleared). And he only creates confusion for his defenders, who also didn’t deal with set pieces well. ...

Re: Liverpool vs West Ham | PL | 28.2.26 | Predictions & Match Thread

There’s a bit of a paradox emerging with Premier League keepers this season. For the last few years, everybody has tried to copy the Pep/sweeper keeper model where goalies need to be good with their feet. But savvy, well-coached sides - like Liverpool, Arsenal etc - have got wise to the need to be u...

And don’t ask what AWB was doing for their fourth goal. He backed off for miles and just let Gakpo wander a few yards from goal without even threatening to make a challenge. At some point you have to engage and make a tackle. We’re still poor at too many basic things. Other clubs drill this stuff ou...

Re: Liverpool vs West Ham | PL | 28.2.26 | Predictions & Match Thread

That midget keeper (he is NOT 6ft 2) is a fucking liability in the Premier League. No presence, terrified to come off his line at set pieces, can’t jump and can’t catch. He also spreads panic and uncertainty among his defenders at set pieces. He’s got to get off his line and attack the ball when it...
