?"Been a while since we've had one of these, and the nights are drawing in, so I need something new to watch. A few to get things going.. ""Cold War"" (1998) Series made by the same people who did 'The World at War'. Covers the period from 1945 to 1991. This is episode 1, the same person's put up all the other episodes too.. ""To Mars by A-Bomb: The Secret History of Project Orion"" (2002) BBC film about the Cold War era plan to build an ocean liner-sized spaceship, propelled by endless external nuclear explosions. Fascinating from start to finish. ""Reggae"" (1971) Film about the 1970 Wembley reggae festival. Live clips, interviews, etc. If you like old ska/reggae you'll love it. "

Re: Recommend a Documentary
There's a few Vice UK documentaries that are worth a watch. Britain's Most Feared Debt Collector The one about smackheads in Swansea (forgot the name)
Re: Recommend a Documentary
"""Fly a Flag for Poplar"" (1974) - Film about the people and history of Poplar, centered around the organizing of the 1973 Teviot Festival. Lots of interviews etc. If you grew up around that way, I'd imagine this would be quite a trip down memory lane. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hgihC6k28w"

"The Hells Angels documentary is definitely real, as ridiculous as it may seem! It was found in the BBC archives by a guy called Adam Curtis and there's a blog about it on the BBC website. There's a good clip on there posted by him about East End skinheads from 1969 too. Not comical like the Hells Angels one but worth a watch: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00jy2zh The same programme featured more Hells Angels too, which has its moments: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00jy31s"

Scientifically I think it was as yet unproved if memory serves me correctly. Though more research may have been done since then.

Re: Recommend a Documentary
The horizon episode that sought to prove whether dogs really can sniff out cancer was very interesting.
Re: Recommend a Documentary
"It's from 1968. A famous singer (at the time) called Georgia Brown goes back to where she was born and grew up in Whitechapel and documents how the area is changing, what with the jews moving out and new immigrants moving in. Some great shots of Petticoat Lane market, Deal St school (with ONE black kid) near Brick Lane, and various locations around Whitechapel and Commercial Road."
Re: Recommend a Documentary
The latest Hillsborough doc from ESPN is worth watching. Brings it bank up to date and also delves more into the changeover in police and the massive balls up in the pre-planning of the services by someone who was a complete novice at football crowd control. Hard to watch in parts for anyone who's ever been to a football ground (so will be lost on the majority of WHO)

Re: Recommend a Documentary
"Watched the Georgia Brown East End doc last night. Very interesting, showing a load of Whitechapel in 1968. There were still loads of jews living in the area, but with more and more asians moving in. Not hard to see where the area was going. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7uW7koB7pw"

"That Hells Angels 73 is the funniest thing I have seen in years... I don't care if it is not real (99% I reckon it is)... I was crying with laughter... I'd love to see them now... probably all dead though... beaten up by Grannies or died on their own ribena vomit... ""Hitler the half crazed Alsatian"" Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!!!!!!!"

"Watched the Hells Angel one, surely this is not a real documentary, although it’s made like one in the same way programs like the Office are with Ricky Gervais, well worth a watch though, had me in stitches at times. Thanks for posting"

"Joke whole Compared to what I watch you are indeed on a different planet of intelligence, though I like you enjoy Horizon too. I have occasionally come across something documentary wise that i thought was a bit high brow but actually ended up enjoying, but its rare."
