Bowen is past it
What on earth has happened to him.
Absolutely shocking once again today. Do feel like he’s past it at this point.

And yet he has a worse goal making rate than Bowen even though he has the luxury of playing for Arsenal surrounded by quality fighting for top honours (but failing *smirk*), whilst Bowen has to put up with the dross he is surrounded with by comparison.
You picked up both players and plonked them in to the other set-up, Bowen would blow Sakas numbers out the water.
Have some of that for some much needed perspective.![]()
Agree. Saka also gets their penalties.

i expect that the shirt he will be wearing will be claret and blue
Maybe he'll go to Villa, seeing as he's such a big fan.

10 goals - 7 assists from 34 games in all comps (1 in 2 G.I. rate which is decent) in a struggling Team, still the same frustrated player. So lucky to have him. He was poor Saturday though.
I'd still sooner have boy wonder in our Team every week than anything Spurs churn out up front in their Team. He will at some point turn it right on when we need it most.

Re: Bowen is past it
Definitely lost a yard of pace. No longer effective enough on the wing.
Can see him reuniting with Moyes at Everton, who'll then play him at CF for the remainder of his career.
I think he's done at West Ham after this season, for sure.

He's playing in a poor West Ham side, with some massive holes in it, and under a manager who parks the bus about 40 yards away from where one of our best players is most effective.
Nuno has made us more competitive (results-wise) than Potter and Lopetegui. But it has come at the expense of some players not getting the ball as often as they'd like in areas where they are most effective. What's happened to Bowen is the result of that trade-off.
Nuno - and, more importantly, the other players - have to do more to feed Bowen in areas where he's more effective. And he certainly needs Summerville's pace back in the side with him, as that helps him get forward quicker and means defenders defend deeper against us.

Re: Bowen is past it
Can't believe anyone is blaming him alone for their goal. Yes he lost the ball near their penalty area, they are 100 odd yards away from our goal, you could easily blame any of 10 other players for not doing their job. Fine he didn't have a great game, it happens, others played far worse.

Preferably to a foreign side.
Simons, Muani or Tudor?

Re: Bowen is past it
I don't think he wants to be here and has his sights elsewhere for a last hurrah at the top level as he moves past his prime, but I also think he's a model pro and not a sulker, there's no attitude he just did not hit his usual form this season. Maybe controversial, but we need to sell him I think.

Yes... you can't run with the ball on your left foot if the defender is that side too... there is always the danger he will just stick a foot in and block it away from you, which is what happened.
You know the rest...

Re: Bowen is past it
I’ll own up when they first got him I thought he was a right donkey but he has grown into possibly their best player. He’s had some nasty head knocks as well putting himself on the line.
